Prayers of Thanksgiving
-
We thank you for our farmers who have been busy harvesting crops for human consumption, and food for their animals through the winter. (The Winter and Spring were very wet with flooding, so some crops were destroyed.)
-
We thank you for our police, fire and ambulance services and for the volunteers who run the RNLI and other rescue services.
-
We thank you for the NHS and the skilled consultants, doctors and nurses who care for those needing treatment.
-
We thank you for our democracy and pray that the new Labour Government will govern wisely and fairly.
-
We thank you for Doctors and Aid Agency staff who risk their lives in conflict zones. ‘Blessed are those who give their lives for others’.

Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi
Lord, make me an instrument of Thy eace;
Where there is hatred let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
Lord, that I may seek to console rather than be consoled;
To understand, rather than to be understood;
To love rather than to be loved.
For it is in giving that we receive;
In self-forgetfulness that we find our true selves;
In forgiving that we are forgiven;
In dying that we are raised up to life everlasting.

Prayer Requests
-
We pray again for peace in the world. November 11th is Remembrance Day when we remember the many conflicts past and current, and the loss of life, and the sadness this causes their loved ones. There will be a Service of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall as usual, and special church services on November 10th.
-
We pray again for the end of conflict around the world: Ukraine & Russia, Israel & Gaza. Sudan and Myanmar civil wars. Congo conflict.
-
We pray that M Pox vaccine will be given to the poorer African nations and that dengue fever will be controlled.
-
In India TB is still prevalent and vaccines need to be rolled out.
-
We pray for the countries of S America where there is so much political instability and poverty.
-
We pray for the USA as they have a November 5th election between their 2 party system. May your hand guide the outcome.
-
We pray for the many refugees around the world who are trying to find a safe place to settle. Aid Agencies try and provide shelter and food, but they are often threatened by soldiers or bandits.
-
We pray for Sudan where there is famine because of the civil war. May the aid agencies be allowed in to feed the starving. (News agencies often focus on the richer nations rather than the poorer nations in their broadcasts so they are overlooked.)
-
We pray for our planet as climate change is causing droughts, floods and more hurricanes and cyclones which cause destruction. May governments work together to reduce carbon emissions before we reach a tipping point of no return.
